New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - A past Highway Superintendent in the town of New Hartford has been honored by the Sauquoit Creek Basin Intermunicipal Commission for his efforts in preserving and protecting the basin area.

Roger Cleveland was a founding member of the group formed in 2003, and a past chairman of the organization. The Commission focuses its efforts on flooding mitigation and preserving the area for future generations.

The group includes six municipalities with land in the Sauquoit Creek basin.
