After months of planning and discussion between the Clinton Arena and the NHL, the decision has been made on the Hockeyville USA preseason game.

According to a Facebook post,

The NHL is coming to Clinton! The Clinton Arena will be host to the Sept. 25 pre-season NHL game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres!

Since Clinton was named Hockeyville USA 2018 in April, the NHL has been in detailed discussions with Mike Orsino from the Clinton Arena. After hours of discussion it has been decided that the game will be played in the historic facility.

There were talks of the game possibly being played at another local venue, due to the size of the arena. However, the deal is done and more details are being discussed. According to the Clinton Arena Facebook post,

Over the next weeks we will be working with the NHL and Kraft Heinz to set more details, especially concerning how many tickets will be available for random drawing to the public, and we will let fans know as soon as that is decided.

It is truly exciting that Clinton will indeed be the host of these two NHL teams. We will provide more details as they become available on ticket information.
