Some are calling for reviews of a female libido drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration.The drug Flibanserin, sold under the brand name Addyi, may be causing several side effects.

The pill, advertised on its website as a "non-hormonal prescription pill used to treat Hypoactive (low) Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) in woman who have not gone through menopause..." may cause women to become tired or dizzy.

The FDA aproved the drug in 2015.  A press release issued by the agency on August 18, 2015 quotes the FDA's Center for Drug Evaulation and Research, Janet Woodcock, M.D., as saying, “The FDA strives to protect and advance the health of women, and we are committed to supporting the development of safe and effective treatments for female sexual dysfunction.”

The FDA's future course of action concerning the drug has not yet been announced.
