Utica, NY (WIBX) - New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli is throwing his support behind the marriage equality movement. DiNapoli, in a released statement, says he's joined the Human Rights Campaign to support marriage equality. "I believe in equal opportunity and a level playing field--and that includes being able to marry the person you love," he said.

A recent Siena Research Institute survey shows that 58-percent of New Yorkers support the marriage equality measure currently waiting passage in Albany. HRC Senior Strategist for New York, Brian Ellner said, "We're very grateful to Comptroller DiNapoli for joining the mainstream majority of New Yorkers who endorse marriage equality. Now is the time to get this done and let all loving and committed couples marry the person that they love."
