In a controversial move President Barack Obama increased the minimum wage for federal contractors this past year to more than $10 per hour.

Now, after the legislature in New York passed a mandate increasing the minimum wage last year, Governor Andrew Cuomo is warning employers to adhere to the new minimum wage standards in the state, $8.25 per hour effective this past January, $9.00 per hour in 2016.

But how many people are directly affected by the minimum wage?  And, are you among them?  Are we all affected from a business and economic standpoint?
