New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Facebook are unveiling a new way to help find missing children.

In a partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Facebook will send AMBER Alerts to people's New Feeds if they're in the targeted search area.

Facebook's new system will allow the social media website to send an AMBER Alert directly to the mobile phones of people in the designated search areas when a child has been abducted

The alert will provide information including a photo and location of the abduction.

More than 180 AMBER Alerts are sent out each year.
