Five Binghamton Properties Targeted for Demolition
More properties in the City of Binghamton are coming down.
The Broome County Land Bank and City officials have announced a partnership to demolish five blighted properties in the First Ward and the West Side.
The targeted plots are 40 Julian Street, 29 Lydia Street, 5 Valley Street, 34 Jarvis Street and 50 Thorp Street.
The Land Bank is reimbursing the demolition costs to the City up to $117,431.
Gorick Construction is doing the work.
Once the demolition is complete, Binghamton will transfer the title to four properties to the Land Bank but hang onto the Valley Street lot which is located near Valley Street Park.
