Florida Woman Charged With Scamming Elderly Couple Out Of $40,000

State Police have arrested a Florida woman for allegedly scamming an elderly Hamilton couple out of $40,000.

28-year old Angie Rios of Miami is charged with grand larceny.

Troopers say Rios called the couple last November and told them their grandson was in jail and to ensure his release, they were told to wire $40,000 for his bail.

They say Rios received the money, which was ultimately deposited into her bank account in Florida.
