No serious injuries are reported from the ice accumulation overnight January 10 and into the next morning but the slippery condition lingered far longer than many anticipated.

Schools that had been on delay, hoping for improved road conditions, closed, many sidewalks remained ice-covered into the afternoon and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, that reduced speed limits to 45 miles an hour on highways like Interstate 81 in Susquehanna County shortly after 12:30 a.m. January 11, didn’t restore normal speed limits until almost 1:30 p.m.
