Vietnam Veteran Celebration Of Life Car Parade Happening In WNY
A family in Eden, New York is hoping that you will join them in saluting a member of their family who was a Vietnam Veteran.
How do you say thank you to a member of our armed forces? These are men and women who bravely answered the call to put their lives on the line to ensure our freedom. So how can you say thank you?
It's never a bad idea to say "Thank you for your service" when you see someone wearing a hat that shows that they were in a branch of the service. You can definitely buy them a cup of coffee if you see them at a coffee shop. There are a ton of ways to say thank you. It never feels like it's enough, but at least it's a gesture.
A family is hoping that you'll be willing to join them in a gesture to salute their grandfather Herbert Lounsbury (known as Bompa to them) who fought in the Army in Vietnam and recently passed away.
According to a flyer that the family posted on Facebook, his health quickly took a turn for the worse last weekend and they were hoping to gather as many people as possible to salute him and show appreciation to him for all he did for our country with a car parade. Unfortunately, he passed away last night (8/28). They will still be doing a car parade for him, but it will now be a "celebration of life" parade if you would like to join.
The parade is scheduled to happen on Thursday, August 29th. They're asking people to meet at the Town Hall in Eden at around 6:30pm. They will leave around 7pm to parade past his house. For more info, check out their post on Facebook.
