There are a ton of people in Cheektowaga that want to buy this dog a bone today! The K9 officer assisted in ending a vehicle pursuit.

In the video that was posted to Facebook over the weekend, a police officer was trying to apprehend someone on the street when a K9 officer came to the rescue to help. The incident happened at the corner of Clinton & Willett in Buffalo, according to the Facebook group The Cheektowaga Scanner. The Facebook group was trying to get to the trainer and owner of the dog to ask for his name.

UPDATE: The K9 officer's name is VIN! They found out his name and now, on Facebook, the organizers are trying to celebrate and reward Vin! Vin's owner Greg is trying to raise some money so that they can buy Vin a bullet proof vest! The Facebook group found Greg's website and wanted to help. Here is what they wrote:

Hey Everyone,
Check this out! Vin, the NYSP K9 from the earlier video, needs a little help. It turns out Vin, a local "fur missile," is looking to get a ballistic vest to better protect himself while doing exactly what he showcased today.
I Dropped some $$, can you help Vin?
It takes about $3,500 in order to purchase a K9 officer's vest.

Kinda a bummer that they just aren’t provided vests from the get go. Hope he can get his!
Joy wrote on Facebook:
Wish my tax money went to stuff like this instead of some of the other stuff it’s allotted too. No reason K9s don’t get protection

Vins other family members include Paul, Rock, Fast, & Furryious !
