Lawmakers Secure State Funding For Local Military Assets
Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblymen Anthony Brindisi and Brian Miller are announcing funding to support local military assets.
The Griffiss Local Development Corporation will receive $500,000 to help with construction of a new headquarters for NYSTEC in Rome.
Oneida County will get $450,000 to help support an unmanned aerial systems test facility and $50,000 will go to the Central New York Defense Alliance.
The Alliance helps to protect federal assets if a BRAC were to occur.
The funding is part of $3 million the lawmakers secured in the 2018-19 state budget to strengthen military facilities across the state.
