You've probably noticed that gas prices are on the rise.

Ed Welsh of AAA Central New York says the average price in the Utica-Rome area is $2.48 a gallon, which is up about 5 cents a gallon from last week.

Welsh says one of the main reasons for the increase is the weather.

Welsh says even with the latest increase, we're still paying much less for a gallon of gas than we were last year at this time.
