Man Charged With Breaking Into Home And Trying To Burn It Down

A Herkimer County Man has been charged with breaking into a home, dousing it with gasoline and attempting to burn it down.

State Police say 36-year old Brian Talbot of Little Falls allegedly entered an unoccupied residence on Tisi Road in the Town of Danube, doused the house with gasoline and tried to burn the house down by using the furnace.

Troopers say Talbot then went to the home of a friend, who has an active order of protection against him, and told her he set the house on Tisi Road on fire.

They say Talbot then left the residence with the women's four-wheeler without permission.

Talbot was taken into custody a short time later without incident.

He's charged with burglary, grand larceny and criminal contempt.
