A New York City man has been charged with stealing the identity of a fallen State Trooper.

State Police arrested 31-year old Steven Calderon of the Bronx following a nearly two month investigation.

Police say Calderon used Trooper Timothy Pratt's information to obtain a $5,000 credit line and buy a washing machine at a downstate Home Depot.

He allegedly went to another Home Depot to purchase additional merchandise, but an employee at the store became suspicious and contacted a member of Pratt's family.

Pratt was killed in an accident on October 26th.

Calderon was charged with two counts of identity theft.

The investigation into this case is continuing and police say they intend to arrest anyone that may have been involved in this incident.
