JEFFERSON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities in upstate New York say a man is recovering after being rescued from a collapsed trailer.

Firefighters responded to an emergency call about a trailer collapse around 10:50 p.m. Monday in Jefferson. Jefferson Fire Department Chief William Bivona says a worker was trying to demolish a trailer when it collapsed, pinning him underneath for nearly four hours.

According to Chief Bivona, Schoharie County Search and Rescue worked with other agencies to free the man using heavy machinery.

The victim was rushed to Albany Medical Center where he is listed in stable but serious condition.
