Man Shot, Crashes Car On Utica Parkway And Later Dies

What may have seemed like an out of control diver on the Parkway in Utica is now a homicide investigation.

Police say the man who drove his vehicle over a median and onto the lawn of a dentist's office on Parkway was suffering from a gunshot wound. Andrew Mateo, 25, of Utica was shot following an argument on Dickinson Street sometime around 5:30 Thursday evening, police said in a news release.

Mateo fled in his vehicle only to lose control on the Parkway.

He was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center were he later died of his injuries.
