Man Who Reported Robbery And Stabbing Made The Story Up

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office say the man who claimed he was robbed and stabbed by a man on Sutliff Road in Whitestown on Tuesday night made the story up.

31-year old Chad Czerkies of Clayville told deputies he had stopped to help a man who was lying in the road when man stabbed and robbed him.

Czerkies then drove to the Oneida County 911 Center for help.

Deputies say after inconsistencies in his story were uncovered, Czerkies admitted he made up the incident.

Czerkies is charged with falsely reporting an incident and giving a false written statement.
