Medicaid System Flaw Led to $7.8 Million In Overpayments
The state Department of Health's Medicaid program overpaid health care providers by $7.8 million over a six-month period because of flaws with its e-Med NY computer system.
That's according to an audit by Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli's office.
The office recouped about $7.5 million of the overpayments and took steps to prevent future payment errors.
