Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Executive Director of the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory in Utica has received the 2011 Distinguished Scientist Award from the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Charles Antzelevitch received the award for his work including editing 5 cardiology textbooks and published over 415 original paper and book chapters.

The Distinguished Scientist Award is given annually to someone who has made major scientific contributions in the field of cardiovascular disease.
