Mohawk Woman Killed In Route 5S Crash

A Mohawk woman was killed this morning when the car she was driving was hit by a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Route 5S and Warren Street in Mohawk.

State Police say 77-year old Florence Harter was turning left on 5S when her vehicle was hit.

Harter was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 41-year old Robert Landcastle of Filmore, New York, was not injured.

Troopers says Landcastle was enroute from Buffalo to Dolgeville hauling 79 tons of lumber.

The accident remains under investigation..
