SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Two musicians who performed in a Leonard Bernstein "Young People's Concerts" in the early 1960s are reuniting at a New York college for a performance celebrating the centennial of the composer-conductor's birth.

Classical bassist Gary Karr and clarinetist Paul Green will be performing for the Bernstein tribute Saturday night at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.

Karr was 20 and Green was 13 when they were chosen by Bernstein in 1962 for one of his "Young People's Concerts" performed with the New York Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall.

Karr is now considered the world's leading solo bassist and Green is a member of Skidmore's faculty.

Bernstein's son Alexander will join the musicians for a panel discussion during intermission of Saturday's performance, part of a worldwide celebration of the composer's birth in 1918.
