State Police are releasing more information on the death of a Vernon Center man who was tased by police after a car crash on Route 5 in Oneida.

Police say a passenger in John Havener's vehicle grabbed the steering wheel a couple of times because he was scared of crashing and how Havener was acting.

They say also say Havener refused to listen to officers who were trying to remove him from the road and became physically combative.

An autopsy showed no anatomical cause of death.  Police say toxicology results make take up to several months to return.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Havener used methamphetamine prior to the accident.

The State Attorney General's Office is investigating the incident.
