The good economic news continues for New York State.

The New York State Department of Labor is reporting the state's private sector job count grew by 3,900 in August..

That marks 21 consecutive months of private second job growth in the state, which is the longest streak in history.

The latest monthly jobs gain raised the state's overall private sector job count to an all-time high of 7,605,000..

Meanwhile,  the state's unemployment rate fell to 6.4% in August, its lowest level since late 2008.
