ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Landmarks across New York state are being illuminated in pink, white and blue in recognition of the Trans Day of Action.

Those are the colors of the transgender flag. Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the colors will shine Friday in honor of Pride Week and the LGBTQ community on landmarks including Manhattan's One World Trade Center, Albany's Alfred E. Smith Building and the State Fair Main Gate.

This weekend, the rainbow colors of the pride flag will illuminate state landmarks.

The Democratic governor says the lighting sends the message that New York welcomes all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
