New York Power Authority Opens Hinckley Boat Launch

The recreational boat launch at the Hinckley dam and reservoir, along with the site's fishing access area, are open for the season.

The New York Power Authority says directional and warning buoys have been installed near the power dam spillway.

Opening daily during the boating season, the launch consists of concrete planks extending 200 feet into the reservoir to permit easy access for boaters. The NYPA built the boat launch in 1985.

They say the launch will remain open as long as reservoir conditions remain safe for boating.
