NJ Fugitive Arrested After Traffic Stop in Chenango

A Syracuse woman wanted in connection with a robbery in New Jersey was arrested after a traffic stop.

The driver, 34-year old Kalief Spruiel, was stopped by New York Sate Police after allegedly speeding along I-81 in Chenango on March 13, 2014.  Troopers say he had a suspended license and was carrying marijuana.  The passenger, 18-year old Shaquannah Smith, had an outstanding arrest warrant from Essex County, New Jersey.

Both were brought to the Broome County Jail.  Spruiel's bail was set as $500.oo cash . $1,000 property.  Smith was denied bail and is awaiting pickup by the Essex County Sheriff's Office.
