The Oneida County District Attorney's Office has a new Community Liaison.

Patrick Johnson has been selected to fill the newly created part-time job, which includes meeting with young people and recently released offenders. He will also conduct racial justice seminars throughout the community.

Johnson is a Utica native and has been involved with race relations and justice groups for years. He is also the creator and director of the New Life Institute, mentoring children and adults on making positive life choices.

The new position is fully funded by the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services.
