Utica, NY (WIBX) - Seniors living in Utica will soon have a safe and reliable way to get to the Oneida County Public Market.

Thanks to a partnership between the county, Market officials and Centro, starting June 30th, seniors from four Utica housing centers may ride a shuttle to and from the market each Saturday.

The service is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Market Manager Beth Irons says the shuttle is a great addition to the market, and that "seniors are one of our high needs populations that can truly benefit from accessibility to healthy, affordable foods."

The shuttle will pick up seniors from the New Hartford, Parkway, North Utica and West Utica Centers.
