Palmieri Wants To Bring Utica, Kunkel To Public Forum

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica's Democratic Mayoral candidate, Robert Palmieri, says the city and Kunkel Ambulance should end their contentious relationship, and is calling both sides to the table for a meeting.

Palmieri says its a question of public safety and says the meeting should be held in an open forum because the public has the right to know everything about the issue.

Utica has been operating an ambulance service since 2006, which means less business for Kunkel - the private operator. However, that may come to an end later this month. The city is awaiting a ruling from the State Appellate Court regarding whether it can continue to operate or if Utica has to get out of the ambulance business.
