When he was a candidate President Donald Trump said he could save Medicare billions of dollars by negotiating prescription drug prices. On Thursday the Democratic-led House will vote on a bill that would deliver that and more. But it's from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Trump is not on board. Pelosi's legislation is expected to pass the House, but Senate Republicans say they'll ignore it because government shouldn't negotiate prices. Pelosi would use savings from lower drug costs to limit what seniors pay out of pocket for medicines and to establish new Medicare coverage for dental, hearing and vision care. The pharmaceutical industry opposes the bill. The AARP supports it.
