Utica Police are investigating an incident of suspicious activity after a female runner was approached by a woman in a white van with no windows.

The runner was in the area of Seward Ave. at Roosevelt Ave. in South Utica on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. The runner claims a plain white work van with no windows pulled up to her in an alarming manner.

The occupants of the van are described as a white male driver and a white female passenger. When the female passenger got out of the van and tried to approach the runner, she was able to escape to a nearby business and the van then left the area.

No crime had been committed at this time, but police are asking anyone for information as part of this investigation. If anyone observes any suspicious activity that may be related to this incident please contact your local police department or 911.
