Police: Rome Shooting Involved Pellet Gun
Rome Police say a Tuesday night shooting incident that happened near the Burger King on South Madison Street involved a pellet gun.
Police say a 34-year old man was shot twice with the pellet gun by one of his friends.
Detective Jeffery Lanigan says three friends were apparently playing video games in a nearby apartment when the victim walked to Burger King to get food.
He says while in route to Burger King, the other two grabbed a pellet gun from the apartment and shot at the victim from a porch, once while he was walking there and then once while he was walking back to the apartment.
Lanigan says the three men made up a story about what had happened.
The victim suffered puncture wounds to his upper chest and back.
He's currently in stable condition at a local hospital but isn't cooperating with police.
No arrests have been made at this time, but charges could be pending further investigation.
