Utica Police say the remains recovered from the Mohawk River earlier this month are those of missing baby Levon Wameling.

Sgt. Steve Hauck says the remains were identified following extensive DNA testing by the New York State Forensic Investigative Center (NYSFIC).

Hauck says there has been no cause of death ruling by the NYSFIC or the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.

He says the UPD continues to investigate the case , with the hope that the truth will be learned and the person or persons responsible are held accountable.

Baby Levon had been missing since May 29th.
