A Rome man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a license plate off of a Rome Police Department patrol car.

35-year old Michael Kroll is charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Police say Kroll took the license plate from a marked patrol car while it was parked in a parking lot on South James Street.

They say Kroll was found to be in possession of the stolen plate.

Kroll was charged and released on $1,000 bail.  He's scheduled to appear in Rome City Court on July 10th.
