A Rome man is facing several charges, including driving while intoxicated, after crashing an SUV in the Town of Whitestown.

State Police say 31-year old Jerry Morris was traveling 115 miles an hour in a 65 mile per hour speed zone on Route 49 in Marcy when he lost control of the vehicle, hit a guide rail and drove down an embankment on River Street.

Morris was arrested and charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and speeding.

Troopers say Morris allegedly took the vehicle from a home in Yorkville without the owner's permission.
