After a lengthy investigation State Police have arrested a Rome woman for Vehicular Assault in the 1st degree.

Troopers say, on September 21st 39-year-old Tabitha Byrne was driving a minivan west on State Route 365 in the Town of Russia when she allegedly struck a 2020 Kia parked on the side of the roadway.

State Police say, as a result of the crash the occupant of the parked vehicle suffered serious injury.

The occupant, 51-year-old Michael Rossi Jr. of Baldwinsville was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate Hospital for head and neck injuries and was eventually discharged with a diagnosed broken neck.

As a result of findings by the State Police Forensic Lab in Albany, police say Byrne's BAC was determined to be .27%.

She was arraigned in the Town of Ohio Court and released.
