Rome Woman Charged In Gas Station Robbery
A Rome woman has been arrested for an early morning robbery at the Sunoco Gas Station on East Dominick Street.
Rome Police have charged 29-year old Brittney Vaughn with third-degree robbery.
Police say Vaughn allegedly entered the gas station just before 2:30 Friday morning and asked the clerk to make change for her.
They say when the clerk opened the cash register, Vaughn reached over the counter and grabbed the money.
The clerk grabbed a hold of Vaughn for a short time, but after a short scuffle, Vaughn was able to flee the store with the cash.
She was taken into custody at the Red Carpet Inn on Lawrence Street several hours later.
