Salmon River Spawning Run Going Well In Northern New York

PULASKI, N.Y. (AP) — The fall salmon spawning run on the Salmon River in northern New York is underway.

Syracuse.com reports (http://bit.ly/2d5Td6b ) that fishing guides and local bait shops are seeing a good run so far. The positive news comes after what was widely considered to be a subpar run last year.

Charlie Blaas of Douglaston Salmon Run at the lower end of the river says they are seeing more fish compared to the past few summers. Blaas said that the Douglaston Run, which only sells 250 day passes to anglers each day, was sold out through the weekend.
