MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Police have responded to a high school north of Seattle following reports of a shooting.

Local television stations reported Friday that two people were being airlifted to a hospital.

Live video showed students being evacuated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, near Everett.

UPDATE 2:47- MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Police responded Friday to a high school north of Seattle after it was locked down amid reports of a shooting.

The Marysville School District said in a statement that "Marysville Pilchuck High School is currently in lock down due to an emergency situation. Police and emergency services have responded."

The district said further information would come from police.

Local television stations said two people were being airlifted to a hospital.

Live video showed students being evacuated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, about 30 miles north of Seattle.

A FBI spokesperson in Seattle said the agency had personnel on their way to the scene to help authorities with the investigation.

UPDATE 3:12- MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Police in Washington state say a shooter is dead after attack at a high school north of Seattle.

Marysville Police Commander Robb Lamoureux said Friday the shooter was a student and could not say if anyone else was wounded.

Live video showed students being evacuated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, about 30 miles north of Seattle.

Arthur White, who lives across from the school, tells The Daily Herald a large number of police vehicles converged on the scene quickly late Friday morning.

Ayn Dietrich, an FBI spokesperson in Seattle, said the agency had personnel on their way to the scene to help authorities with the investigation.

The latest school shooting in the region happened at Seattle Pacific University, where a gunman killed one student and wounded two others on June 5.
