At least one owner of a New York City restaurant is in favor of raising the state's minimum wage. Barbara Sibley, chef and owner of La Palapa, says she is not alone tough in her belief that wait staff are often under paid. She says there are other business owners in New York City who favor increasing the minimum wage.

However, Sibley says some employees do make more than minimum wage, but those are workers who have been there for years and a good employees.

Referring to wait staff, Sibley says: ''I don't see anyone making real money'', adding the rate has not been adjusted to consider for inflation.
