State Police Investigate Herkimer County Hit And Run

State Police are investigating a hit and run accident in Herkimer County.

Troopers say 59-year old Francis Crist had stopped along the shoulder of Route 20 in the Town of Warren just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday to speak with the driver of a vehicle that had been tailgating him.

Witnesses told police they saw Crist approach the vehicle and that's when the driver backed up and then struck Crist with the driver's side of the vehicle before driving away.

Christ was taken to the hospital with multiple facial fractures.

Police are searching for a suspect, who was believed to be driving a mid-2000’s white Buick Rendezvous.
