State Police Investigating Fatal Accident On The Thruway

State Police say the driver of one of two tractor trailers involved in a crash Tueaday morning on the Thruway in the Town of German Flatts has died

Troopers say one truck experienced a mechanical issue and became disabled in the right lane.

They say another tractor trailer struck the disabled truck from behind, resulting in the death of the driver, 54-year old James Campitelli of Bloomfield, New Jersey.

The driver of the disabled tractor trailer, 42-year old Terrace Sias of Syracuse, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries

The accident remains under investigation.
