Albany, NY (WIBX) - If you want to save some money while clothes shopping, you're in luck.

Starting Sunday, clothing and footwear less than 110 dollars will be exempt from the state's 4-percent sales and use tax.

The tax exemption also covers most fabrics, yarn, buttons and zippers, along with items used to create or repair clothes.

Other items, such as jewelry, watches and helmets do not apply.

Nine counties state wide, including Chenango and Madison counties, except for the City of Oneida, will fully exempt eligible purchases less than 110-dollars from local sales and use tax, as well.
