Marcy, NY (WIBX) - SUNYIT is kicking off the 2012 FIRST Lego League season with a free event to get kids interested in what the program has to offer.
On August 28th, kids and adults alike can visit SUNYIT's Campus Center to see robot demonstrations and discuss what this year's season will entail.

Those interested may also speak with volunteers involved in the program and how to form a robotics team.

This year's challenge is called "Senior Solutions" and focuses on the topics of aging and maintaining one's lifestyle. Teams made up of 9 to14 year-olds must work to solve the problems presented to them, while also building and programming a robot capable of maneuvering an obstacle course.
