Syracuse, NY (WIBX) - The owner of a local chain of head shops has pleaded guilty to drug charges in federal court.  

33-year old John Tebbets of Rome, the owner of the Tebbs stores, admitted yesterday to possessing and selling synthetic drugs commonly called bath salts.

He also pleaded guilty to money laundering.

Tebbets could receive up to 20 years in prison on each of five drug counts and five million dollars in fines at his sentencing in April.
