A lengthy investigation into the distribution of crystal meth and cocaine in Chenango County and surrounding areas has led to the arrest of two people on drug charges.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office executed a "no-knock" search warrant at an apartment on East Main Street in Norwich, where they allegedly found crystal meth, cocaine, marijuana, LSD and suboxone strips.

They also recovered over $35,000 in cash, a loaded handgun and a 2004 Honda Civic.

34-year old Corey Weidman and 22-year old Cheyanne Moore are charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities say. Weidman attempted to flee by jumping through an intact window. He was immediately taken into custody, treated at the scene by Norwich EMS before being transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained by broken glass.

Additional arrests and charges are expected.
