UPD Remove Another Dangerous Gun and Criminal Off The Streets
Utica Police have taken another dangerous and illegal firearm off the streets.
Officers with the Gun Involved Violence Elmination or GIVE unit were patrolling hot spots releative to recent shots fired investigations when they noticed a vehicle commit a vehicle & traffic violation.
Officials say, officers attempted to make a stop when the vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated through several local city streets.
The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled on foot, at which time police saw the male remove a handgun from his waistband, according to police.
The man fled down an alleyway and officers were able to catch up with him, take him into custody and take possession of the loaded Beretta.
22-year-old Robquan Gimore of Utica is facing several charges including Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
