Train games being played by a 13-year-old in Central New York were no fun for anyone involved.

Last week's crash of a Susquehanna Railway train into a car and then the 100-year-old Union Station in Utica was, authorities confirm, caused by a teenager who was essentially playing on the train.

In a written release Utica Police say the following:

"...[T]he child was on the car and was able to release a mechanism which released the brakes on the car. It appears that from the time the car was released until it struck Union station was approximately 22 minutes."

The case was referred to the county attorney.  No charges will be filed against the child.

Utica Police are thanking all of the agencies involved in both the accident and the investigation.

The antique train that was pushed into Union Station by the Susquehanna car is scheduled to be extracted from the building on Friday, July 31, 2015.
