Upstate NY Athlete Wins Olympic Gold

London (WIBX) - American Jennifer Suhr has won the gold medal in women's pole vault at the Summer Olympics in London.

Suhr captured the gold with a mark of 4.75-meters.

The 30-year old Suhr was born in Fredonia, NY and lives in Churchville, near Rochester.

She won a silver medal in the pole vault at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
